Owner Larry Gruber, a Longmont High School and University of Colorado graduate, owned and operated a music store in Glenwood Springs for the past fifteen years. This experience has enabled Gruber to identify and implement an intriguing product mix and friendly comfortable shop atmosphere.
Gruber, a musician himself, has played in several bands over the past 30 years, the past decade as bassist for the band Big Daddy Lee & the Kingbees in the Aspen area and region. Both of his daughters, Shanti and Sheena Gruber, have their own bands that perform around Colorado.

Larry purchased most of his personal instruments from Curt Mangan, who owned Longmont Music during the 1970’s here in town. Today, Mangan owns a successful string company that resides in Cortez, CO, and Larry’s is the exclusive dealer in Longmont. Also, the shop is the Longmont location to purchase Great Divide guitars produced by music industry veteran Tom Bedell. Several Colorado instrument builders are featuring their products at the shop.

The 508 5th Ave. location was a music store in town for many years. The original music lesson studios still exist and feature lessons in guitar, mandolin, bass, violin and viola. Live music performances are also held every Thursday evening.

Gruber loves guitars and it shows when you see him at the shop. A steady flow of guitar enthusiasts are making regular visits to talk and play the different instruments arriving daily. Stop in and and experience Larry’s Guitars.
